Dr. ALMA RENE WILLIAMS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP BLACK HISTORY QUIZZES

BLACFACS captures the essence of Black Lives in America over the history of this country. This site and these quizzes are established to honor the memory of Dr. Alma Rene Williams (1947-2000), a noted historian and professor at Clark Atlanta University who passed at the turn of this new century (bio).

It is also established to further her legacy of teaching and learning African American* history throughout the year. Dr. Williams believed our history should be taught and learned for 365 days, not just in February, the shortest month of the year. BLACFACS is also established to support an endowed scholarship for History and English majors of Clark Atlanta University. This endowed scholarship will be used to enable CAU history majors to follow in the footsteps of Dr. Williams and CAU English majors to follow in the footsteps of the originator of the site, Dr. Janice Liddell, retired chairperson and professor of English at Clark Atlanta University.

Finally, BLACFACS is established for you and anyone else who desire to learn about the remarkable history of African Americans. It is an interactive site of quizzes in a myriad categories related to Black life. It may be used by schools, families, clubs, churches, etc. or by individuals. Larger projects and assignments can grow from the quizzes as students and scholars use them to launch essays, research papers, theses, even books. We want you to make this site your site and to use it in whatever way you see fit. (Please note that quizzes are not calibrated for skill, knowledge, age or grade levels)

(* the terms “Black” and “African American” are used interchangeably in this quiz)
